In addition to our trustees our User Group is represented at meetings and contributes positively to the direction of the WHYP. Our membership of several partnership and umbrella organisations ensures that we keep abreast of new directions in relation to our work and management.

 

Staff

 

We employ a full-time coordinator who is both an experienced manager and senior outdoor instructor. The coordinator is ably assisted by two full-time outdoor instructors. The range of experience of our instructors enables us to take full advantage of our Outdoor Activities licence in the development of the life skills of young people.

 

In addition to our outdoor staff we also employ two qualified youth workers on a full-time basis. The youth workers are responsible for the development of our centre based activities and our estate outreach work. The work of the centre is also supported by a part-time administrator.

 

The work of our paid staff is further supported by our volunteers. Volunteers are essential to our success and assist in many different areas. Some of our volunteers are previous users. In return for involvement, volunteers benefit from in house training, social activities and a big slice of job satisfaction.

Trustees

 

We are supported by local trustees. Our trustees bring to the project a broad range of expertise ranging from project management through to staff development.

 

Several of our trustees also bring with them significant knowledge of the issues related to the development and support of children and young people.
